Twitter has to share 70-80% of the benefits of advertising with its users.
How? Very simple, let’s say that Twitter awarded one point for every 10 or 20 retweets that some users do to other users. Then, every month, Twitter would share the profit of the publication of ads among the items distributed and all we would win. And besides, this way, advertising not only won’t be rejected, but users would be happy to buy products from advertisers. And, for example, traditional media with Twitter accounts would also have a source of additional income.
Of course, we should establish certain rules. Such as:
- Points for re-retweets will not be awarded. This would promote original creation.
- Retweets from Twitter website would be the only ones to be awarded, since that is where the advertising would be.
- It must be checked that no wise guy create false accounts to retweet for themselves.
And more control rules that would emerge with experience, as has happened with the Google ads.
